I feel like I am going through skincare so fast. It can only mean one thing — my Replacement-Only No Buy project is going so well that I’m able to enjoy stuff I already own.
Here are my thoughts on the first several items I finished this year:
Olay Regenerist Cream Cleanser
This is a cream-type, non-foaming cleanser with gritty bits and salicylic acid. I developed a liking to non-drying cream cleansers because the rest of what I use on my face have a potential to dehydrate the skin.
If you prefer a cleanser that lathers up and gives a satisfying squeaky clean feel, this is not for you.
It can’t completely remove makeup, but it works really well as a second cleanser.
Olay Age Protect Anti-Ageing Cream
I already reviewed this in the past (Read: Olay Age Protect Review). I’m happy they didn’t change the formula. I still love it! It sets fast and doesn’t give that sitting-on-top-of-skin look. It doesn’t feel heavy too.
It has salicylic acid (in a non-drying formula) but the concentration is not stated on the label. It’s affordable at Php149/19g.
Purito Vitamin C Serum
This is the first non-derivative vitamin c serum I tried.
It has 84% Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate), 10% Vitamin C, and Niacinamide (listed 4th on the ingredients list). I remember buying it because I was starting to feel overwhelmed by The Ordinary’s single-active products. I like that this has 3 of the ingredients I want in one bottle. I don’t want to have to think about layering and timing between products.
It makes my skin flush when I apply too much, but the redness goes away overnight. The more important thing is it kept dark marks from forming after my pimples healed and it brightened my skin. I might post a more detailed review on this. Let me know if there’s anything you want to know about the serum.
