Beauty Inventory | Toners and Essences

Same as last year, I own two (2) toners/ essences.

Toner FTE Inventory 2019

CosRx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
(Php 999 / 100ml beautybar.com.ph)

I bought CosRx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid (BBPL) to replace two toners I finished a few months back — CosRx Two-In-One Poreless Power Liquid (TPPL) and AcneDote 2% Salicylic Acid Astringent Toner.

The BBPL formula seems to have changed or they have a different formula sold in Korea (I asked a friend to buy this for me when she went there earlier this year).

Based on the COSRX website, the Betaine Salicylate in this product is supposed to be at 4% concentration, but on the box, it says my bottle only has 0.9% 🤷 I might just pass this on to my husband. I prefer stronger BHA toners and I don’t like the slippy feel.

Son & Park Beauty Water
(Php 1,370 / 340ml ph.althea.kr)

I’m almost done with it, but I’m not sure it did anything. I guess I should’ve read the claims beforehand. That could’ve helped in at least causing a placebo effect.

This is a cleanser and toner in one and is used to prep the skin for makeup or skincare. It has a pH of 4.5 and is supposed to bring the skin back to its normal pH level (slightly acidic). As I said, I don’t know if it did anything. Maybe I couldn’t appreciate the effect because I’m already using a low pH cleanser.

Will I buy again? I’m not sure. It’s pricey for something I’m not sure has an effect on my skin. I’m happy it didn’t cause any negative reaction. I’m thinking maybe a toner from Sebamed could work just as well — their products mostly have pH 5.5.

  1. The beauty water was very so-so for me too. I didn’t know if it helped my skin at all and for the price, it was definitely a no for repurchase for me. Also, I didn’t check my box for BBPL. I just assumed it was still 4% BHA. I’ve been using Some By Mi products lately and I prefer it over CosRX. Have you tried that brand?
