It Cosmetics CC Cream Review | Empty

TL;DR – I love It Cosmetics CC Cream. This is one of the face bases that get me the most compliments. It can make me look like I had 9 hours of sleep when I only had 3. Depth-wise, medium is a good fit for me. Unfortunately, it’s not very close to my undertone. Medium leans neutral. For reference, I’m light-medium olive with strong yellow undertones. It’s workable because I don’t build it up to full coverage. Nitpick time–I notice a negligible ashiness (see the photo below; had to take several shots to capture the ashiness that only I can…

Project Pan 2019

Project Pan 2019 | Kevyn Aucoin SSE, NARS Torres Del Paine, and It Cosmetics CC Cream

Generally, I don’t think project pans work for me, more specifically hate-panning. I tried it a few times, but I failed to follow through. I always just end up using products I feel like using instead of the products I set aside to use. I’m trying again and I think I can do it this time because I love these 3. I have just been picking up other products more often because I wasn’t ready to let go. However, these might expire soon. Time to start using the good china. As with most of my personal projects, I won’t put…

Althea Petal Velvet Powder Review

Finally had enough time to test out the Althea Petal Velvet Powder (Note: This product was sent to me for PR consideration). TLDR; while I generally dislike white loose powders, I am ok with this. The powder is micro-fine and soft to the touch, as it says in the claims. I had concerns that it would look ashy on me–and it does, but upon initial application. Buffing it in and waiting for my oils to come up (which doesn’t take a while) solves the problem. Oil control is decent. My nose and forehead starts to show noticeable (but negligible) shine…

LOreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation Review

L’Oreal Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation Review

I got very excited when I saw L’Oreal Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation (Shade 150 Radiant Beige) in Watsons (P700). It’s rare to find a matte yellow olive-toned drugstore foundation locally. I liked this foundation the first few times I used it. But I was applying it sheer and buffed with sunscreen. It doesn’t look bad used as a wash-of-color of base. It can even out my skin tone, however, it doesn’t do much for skin texture problems. I guess I initially liked it because it’s yellow AF. As for the claims… No Transfer = Not True It’s “infallible” in…

Toss or Keep: L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Foundation Review + Comparison Swatches

Project Toss or Keep — where I would use one foundation for most of the month and decide if I would toss or keep it. I was looking to replace my L’Oreal Lucent Magique when I first saw the True Match Super-Blendable line. Unfortunately, I didn’t match with any of their “W” colors. The sales assistant (SA) almost forced me to settle with W4 instead. To be fair, it was a good recommendation since W4 was indeed the closest match out of all available shades. However, I’m really particular about getting the right undertone when it comes to foundations. Color A few weeks after…

Toss or Keep: BECCA Luminous Skin Colour Review + Other Foundations I’m Keeping

Project Toss or Keep — where I would use one foundation for most of the month and decide if I would toss or keep it. I kind of cheated when I chose BECCA to kick off this series. I started with something easy for motivation. I already tried letting go of this foundation last year just because of the scent–like old school makeup. I decided to hold on to it again and found a way to make it work by setting it with a heavily scented finishing powder that I like. Based on reviews, most people don’t seem to be bothered by the scent at all,…
