New Products I NEED to Rave About feat. Laneige, Etude House, and PureVivi

I find it a chore to write about hauls, which I prefer just calling ‘new purchases’. But recently I bought products that are so good it would be a disservice to beauty blogosphere if I didn’t share them…stat. Let’s begin. Advertisements

A Review of Biore’s Makeup Removers*

*While I was not compensated for this post, the products featured were sent to me for PR consideration. Some of Biore’s makeup removers* are finally here! I was a little disappointed that the makeup cleansing milk I once bought from a Taiwanese grocery store is not included in the makeup remover line launched recently. But I’m happy with the products that Biore made available. I received this lovely pink bucket of makeup removers two months ago and here’s what I think about them (in order of what I like most): Biore Cleansing Oil Wipes I wasn’t looking forward to using…

Bioderma Sensibio DS+ Creme Road Test Results

While not sponsored, this post features a product included in a subscription box that I received as a press sample. When I first saw the contents of the June 2015 BDJ Box*, in my head, I asked — Why are the samples so tiny? I had a feeling that many people will not appreciate that the box contains mostly 5ml tubes of moisturizers. But being the moisturizer junkie that I am, I felt happy that I can now try out other products that Bioderma has to offer. Prior to getting the box, the only Bioderma stuff I’ve used are two variants…

How to Use Maxi-Peel: Step-by-Step Skin Guide

Disclaimer first. I’m not using maxi-peel anymore and I probably won’t use it again in the near future. I’m currently on tretinoin cream and it’s been working great. Also, I didn’t start treating my acne with maxi-peel. I initially used products that a dermatologist prescribed me which included a toner similar to maxi-peel. If you haven’t seen that post yet, I recommend reading that first before proceeding with the rest of this post (Read: My Acne Prescription from Aesthetic Science Clinic). If I were to use maxi-peel again, I would do it like this: Pre-use: I would start with the lowest strength (#1), at a…

My Acne Skin Care Prescription from Aesthetic Science Clinic

Since posting about Maxi-Peel exfoliant solution, I’ve gotten a few requests/questions about how to use Maxi Peel step-by-step, how to deal with the peeling, what moisturizers to use, and how to go about sun protection. Before we go there, I’ll tell you about my skin first and what got me to try the product. BACKGROUND Before: My acne during my teens wasn’t that bad. I’ve always had acne but I’d consider it mild. I get tiny pimples here and there but I wasn’t really bothered by it. They’re always just small ones, not a pretty sight, but I dealt with it. My…

Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution Review

The 5-years-ago version of me, would never have foreseen the present me writing about Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution, but here we are. I was (and still am) annoyed by the kutis-artista* tagline and the inference that to achieve “kutis-artista”, you must have whiter skin. I stumbled upon this product when I was looking for a cheaper, more accessible alternative to products that a dermatologist prescribed me, CHAT 2% solution. The active ingredients in CHAT 2% are Clindamycin Phosphate, Hydroquinone, Alum, and Tretinoin. I couldn’t find a product with these actives except for a toner being sold at Belo Clinics (also labeled…
