Foundation and Concealer Matches

MAC Face & Body Foundation – C3 / C4

This is great for medium/dark yellow-olive skin tones, but this is very sheer, so maybe that’s why they match? I think this is meant more for the body than the face though. I match C3 when I’m at my lightest and C4 after getting some sun.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus – C35 / C40

Close match. I love this powder foundation. C40 is a tad dark but I prefer this over NC35 because the latter doesn’t match my base tone. Recently found out that there’s C35. I think I’ll match with that but I haven’t tried it yet.

MAC Studio Fix Foundation – NC30 / NC35 and NC37

It’s a little bit tricky with MAC foundations. NC35 is a good match lightness/darkness-wise but it doesn’t match my undertone. It’s not yellow-green enough. NC30 is yellow and doesn’t have a lot of orange. It matches me when I’m at my lightest. NC37 is a close match, base tone-wise. It’s a shade darker on me (not during the summer). My best match would probably NC30 and NC37 combined.

L’Oreal Lucent Magique – G4-Gold Shell

95% match, it’s yellow with a tiny tiny hint of orange. It’s more yellow than orange, but since it’s sheer, it’s an almost perfect match.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – Stromboli

I never owned this but I sampled it and it’s a good match, if not a taaad darker at the time I tried it. But the base color is P-E-R-F-E-C-T.  This is another good foundation for strong yellow-toned skin with a greenish cast. 20-FEB-2014. Of all the foundations I owned, this is the closest match. I wish I bought it sooner but it was always out of stock.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer – NC35

I use this for the undereye and on pimple marks. The orangeness of it comes out on my yellow-olive skin tone but that made it perfect for my under eye (the orange cancels out the blue-ness of my under eye circles — but note that my under eyes aren’t really THAT dark).

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer – SX08

This is my favorite concealer, it’s a closer match compared to MAC Studio Finish Concealer and it has fuller-er coverage (as if MAC’s concealer isn’t opaque enough).

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick – 4-Natural

Ok, now this one, I’m not sure if this is actually a match. It’s yellow looking at it from the tube but it’s beige on me, because I’m very yellow. Either that or it just doesn’t have enough green in it. I have a feeling that there’s another Bobbi Brown foundation shade that would match me more. But given that this is medium coverage and it doesn’t look off when I put it on, I’d say it’s an ok match, maybe just not the best. I have a feeling I’m a 4.25.

Fashion 21 Two-way Cake with Milk Moisturizers – Shade 3

I find it strange that I seldom find more yellow foundations in local brands. Are there really more pink/ neutral Filipinas? Anyway, this is a better match for me than MAC Studio Fix Plus powder.

Jazzy James Cooper Cream Compact Foundation – CF-03

This could’ve been a good match for my yellow-olive skin but it turns at least 2 shades darker and orange/ red-er once applied. I still use it to conceal pimples (since it’s a little bit dark, it can make bumps look receded, which is awesome).
