Summer 2019 Go-To Look 1

I’m sure it’s still summer in other parts of the world so I’m writing this even when the monsoon season in 🇵🇭 has already started. I got inspired by Hello Vanya’s post. Here’s one of my go-to makeup looks — ** Products marked with double-asterisks were gifts from friends FACE BASE – Nivea Sun UV Face Sunscreen and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer Several weeks ago Phoebe introduced me to Shelbey Wilson’s YouTube channel. I don’t know how I didn’t know about her! Her eyelids are the same as mine and her channel is focused more on makeup techniques than…

Happy Skin x Plains and Prints: Prints Made Pretty Collection Swatches

This has got to be my favorite Happy Skin release yet. Everything in this collection suits my light/medium yellow-olive skin tone. I bought the sets from Zalora last Friday and received the products yesterday. I have nothing substantial to say about them yet, but I received several requests for swatches and here we are. Happy Skin Glisten Up Strobing Kit I love the contour shade a lot. It’s the grey-toned yellow-brown shade I’ve been looking for. I still have to figure out how best to apply it. I’m comfortable with cream bronzers, but I haven’t contoured with a cream product…

Lipstick Colors I Wouldn’t Wear in Public

Day 8 – 20-Day Lipstick Challenge I call these colors, modifiers. They’re not the most flattering shades when worn alone, but I keep them because they expand my lipstick collection. I keep two types of colors as modifiers. A cool-toned purple, like Inglot 422, and the other is a concealer-like shade, like Happy Skin Too Cool. I use Inglot 422 to mauve-ify or berry-fy neutral-toned lipsticks. Sometimes, I use it to create unique shades. Who knew Inglot 422 and a terracotta orange could work. On the other hand, I use Too Cool to mute down bright colors, or slightly lift dark lipsticks. Here’s an…

Current Favorite Drugstore Lipstick

Day 3: Favorite Drugstore Lipstick 20-Day Lipstick Challenge For purposes of this post, Drugstore Lipstick means any lipstick sold in drugstores, literally (e.g. Mercury Drug and stand-alone Watsons stores. Haha). Also, I took it to mean, current favorite drugstore lipstick. Anyway — Finally, an easy one! It didn’t take me long to identify which one is my favorite. Off the bat, it’s Happy Skin Moisturizing Matte Lipstick in Best Date Ever. After trying out Happy Skin’s first two matte lipsticks, I kept my eyes peeled for any information on follow-up Happy Skin matte releases. I’ve tried a LOT of matte lipsticks and…

Happy Skin Hot Stuff Moisturizing Matte Lippie Swatch

Preview x Happy Skin | Too Cool and Hot Stuff Matte Lip Crayon Review and Swatches

I’m not used to using word nicknames, so instead of calling these lippies, the actual name of the product, I’ll call them lip crayons. I’m a little disappointed that these are limited edition and that there seems to be no option to buy the crayons separately. Currently, it’s only available in Zalora but it will be available in Beauty Bar soon. I had a feeling that the red crayon would be a wine red since they didn’t have that shade in their regular lipstick line. I already have a staple wine red lipstick and I have a no dupe rule, so I was only interested in the nude one….
