Happy Skin x Plains and Prints: Prints Made Pretty Collection Swatches

This has got to be my favorite Happy Skin release yet. Everything in this collection suits my light/medium yellow-olive skin tone. I bought the sets from Zalora last Friday and received the products yesterday. I have nothing substantial to say about them yet, but I received several requests for swatches and here we are. Happy Skin Glisten Up Strobing Kit I love the contour shade a lot. It’s the grey-toned yellow-brown shade I’ve been looking for. I still have to figure out how best to apply it. I’m comfortable with cream bronzers, but I haven’t contoured with a cream product…

Lipsticks With The Best Packaging

Day 11: Lipstick With The Best Packaging 20-Day Lipstick Challenge I’m supposed to write about the lipstick I own that has the best packaging, but I can’t feature just one so I’ll just talk about my preferred lipstick packaging in general. Best Packaging in Terms of Appearance To be honest, packaging aesthetics doesn’t have a huge influence in my lipstick shopping decision making process. Being a matte lipstick lover, my only requirement with packaging is that it should keep the lipstick from wobbling as I tug the product along my lips. A good example would be MAC’s standard lipstick packaging. It can handle the pressure…

Maybelline Velvet Matte MAT12 Tube

Maybelline Velvet Matte MAT12: Almost My Favorite Nude Lipstick

Right now, I don’t have a nude lipstick that I consider a favorite. It used to be NARS Audacious Barbara, but NARS Audacious and I had a falling out. I should probably make a separate post on that. In terms of color, my most liked nude right now is Maybelline Velvet Matte Lipstick in Mat 12. I think it’s almost the same color as Inglot 428, but MAT 12 looks lighter because it’s semi-sheer and my lips are pale. MAT 12 is a sliiightly coral peach nude. I found the Maybelline Velvet Matte line slightly disappointing because I prefer my liquid…

Lip Swatch - Inglot 428

Inglot 428: My Favorite Matte Lipstick At The Moment

My search for a medium muted soft-peach lipstick began when I bought MAC Runway Hit and found it too pale for my skin tone. Let me digress real quick: Runway Hit is horrible. If not for MAKE Cosmetics lip primer and Sonia Kashuk’s Velvet Matte Pencil, it would take me the whole day to get Runway Hit to apply evenly. Going back, I had already given up on the search for my perfect peach when I saw on instagram that Inglot released new matte shades. When Inglot releases new matte lipsticks, I always check them out. The brand comes out…

Lipstick Colors I Wouldn’t Wear in Public

Day 8 – 20-Day Lipstick Challenge I call these colors, modifiers. They’re not the most flattering shades when worn alone, but I keep them because they expand my lipstick collection. I keep two types of colors as modifiers. A cool-toned purple, like Inglot 422, and the other is a concealer-like shade, like Happy Skin Too Cool. I use Inglot 422 to mauve-ify or berry-fy neutral-toned lipsticks. Sometimes, I use it to create unique shades. Who knew Inglot 422 and a terracotta orange could work. On the other hand, I use Too Cool to mute down bright colors, or slightly lift dark lipsticks. Here’s an…
