Favorite Lipstick Brand

Day 7: Favorite Lipstick Brand 20-Day Lipstick Challenge I thought choosing my favorite lipstick brand would be as tough as choosing my all-time favorite in Day 1 of the 20-day lipstick challenge, but it was an easy decision. However, I feel very conflicted with my choice: MAC. I say this over and over — I really REALLY love matte lipsticks, and MAC’s matte lipsticks are all that I need if I’m not as interested in trying out shiny new stuff. MAC has two matte lipstick lines that are actually matte. The brand has more than enough colors to choose from. The quality, finish, and texture are consistent across the…

Dupes: MAC Diva VS Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Entourage

I hate to have to say this but–I think I should’ve just purchased MAC Diva for the sole reason that it’s 3x cheaper. That said, I do not regret getting Entourage because I’m all about the “makeup experience”. I might not repurchase it but I can (still?!) see future me snagging 1 or 2 other shades in the Velvet Rope line.

MAC Sin Pro Matte Lipstick Review and Swatches

Most dark lipsticks I find are either plum, aubergine, or wine. For the longest time, I wanted a dark red — an on-the-verge-of-drying-out-blood red. MAC Sin is that type of red lipstick. A less gory description would be: blackened MAC Ruby Woo. MAC describes this as a deep dark blue red.  I used to have a lipstick in this color — Fixed on Drama, but it’s a limited edition and is described by MAC as a rich wine matte. In pictures, maybe Sin looks a taaad bluer, but on the lips (and in real life), they’re the same. At least now, I don’t feel as disappointed anymore when…

MAC Studded Kiss and MAC Up The Amp Swatches + How I De-stash

A few people have been wondering (incl. Tellie and Pat) where my stuff goes when I de-stash. Literally, I give most of them away. I don’t do it one go. As soon as I realize that I haven’t been using something that often or if I start feeling like I’m forcing myself to use up a product, I give it to someone else. The sooner I give something away, the more time that someone will have to play with it. Most of the stuff goes to my mom and friends, in either of the following: If it’s a color that doesn’t work on my…

MAC Lady Danger Matte Lipstick Review and Swatches

This lipstick looks orange red on most photos I’ve seen. On my face, it’s a straight up flaming orange. I think my skin pulls out the orange and coral in a lot of lipsticks. Both Mehr and Please Me, described by MAC as blue-pinks*, look coral or peachy on me. Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte lipstick in True Pink, which is supposed to be a true neutral pink, is not true neutral pink on my face. That’s that — if you find your skin tone to be really close to mine (check my matches here), this could be the orange that could work for you….

MAC Matte Lipstick in Please Me — A Light Lipstick For A Change

Everyday lipsticks, for me, aren’t MLBB-type colors. I usually wear either strong or deep colors to compensate for lack of eye makeup. Last week, though, I’ve been using MAC Please Me (matte) a lot. It’s still not a natural-looking lipstick, but it’s a lot different from what I’m used to. It pulls slightly lilac pink in the photo but MAC describes it as a muted rosy-tinted pink. I don’t know how that’s supposed to look like. I’d describe it as muted barbie pink.
