Althea Petal Velvet Powder Review

Finally had enough time to test out the Althea Petal Velvet Powder (Note: This product was sent to me for PR consideration). TLDR; while I generally dislike white loose powders, I am ok with this. The powder is micro-fine and soft to the touch, as it says in the claims. I had concerns that it would look ashy on me–and it does, but upon initial application. Buffing it in and waiting for my oils to come up (which doesn’t take a while) solves the problem. Oil control is decent. My nose and forehead starts to show noticeable (but negligible) shine…

LOreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation Review

L’Oreal Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation Review

I got very excited when I saw L’Oreal Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation (Shade 150 Radiant Beige) in Watsons (P700). It’s rare to find a matte yellow olive-toned drugstore foundation locally. I liked this foundation the first few times I used it. But I was applying it sheer and buffed with sunscreen. It doesn’t look bad used as a wash-of-color of base. It can even out my skin tone, however, it doesn’t do much for skin texture problems. I guess I initially liked it because it’s yellow AF. As for the claims… No Transfer = Not True It’s “infallible” in…

Dark Red Lipstick Collection

MAC Sin, Inglot 412, MAC D for Danger, and Estee Lauder Commanding | Toss or Keep

I’ll give Marie Kondo a run for her money once my book comes out titled The Life-Changing Magic of Using The Candy Crush Technique in Letting Go of Lipsticks. The Candy Crush Technique is when you group lipsticks by color and choose to keep ONE lipstick from each group. My red lipstick destashing project is on-going, and so far, I’ve found 2 pairs of lipsticks that have the same-ish color. Inglot 412 and MAC D for Danger Can you tell them apart? The swatches on the back of my hand look slightly different with MAC D for Danger looking a tad brighter and more berry-toned. On…

Lipsticks With The Best Packaging

Day 11: Lipstick With The Best Packaging 20-Day Lipstick Challenge I’m supposed to write about the lipstick I own that has the best packaging, but I can’t feature just one so I’ll just talk about my preferred lipstick packaging in general. Best Packaging in Terms of Appearance To be honest, packaging aesthetics doesn’t have a huge influence in my lipstick shopping decision making process. Being a matte lipstick lover, my only requirement with packaging is that it should keep the lipstick from wobbling as I tug the product along my lips. A good example would be MAC’s standard lipstick packaging. It can handle the pressure…

Maybelline Velvet Matte MAT12 Tube

Maybelline Velvet Matte MAT12: Almost My Favorite Nude Lipstick

Right now, I don’t have a nude lipstick that I consider a favorite. It used to be NARS Audacious Barbara, but NARS Audacious and I had a falling out. I should probably make a separate post on that. In terms of color, my most liked nude right now is Maybelline Velvet Matte Lipstick in Mat 12. I think it’s almost the same color as Inglot 428, but MAT 12 looks lighter because it’s semi-sheer and my lips are pale. MAT 12 is a sliiightly coral peach nude. I found the Maybelline Velvet Matte line slightly disappointing because I prefer my liquid…
