Retinoids and Vitamin C Serum Inventory 2019

Beauty Inventory | Day 5A – Actives (Vitamin A Serums) + Reviews

I’ve been using topical retinoids / Vitamin A serums (e.g. tretinoin, adapalene, and more recently, retinol) for more than a decade now. This whole category of products is my ride or die. I decided to permanently switch to retinol from tretinoin because the latter is so fussy to use. A small deviation on the timing of use or quantity applied can result in flakes and dehydrated skin. You also have to quit at least a week before doing any activity involving a lot of direct sunlight, and when you get back on tretinoin again, back to flake-y skin and skincare…

Beauty Inventory | Day 4 – Chemical Exfoliants and Acid Toners

From last year’s 3, I’m down to 2 chemical exfoliators. The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution I only use this on the areas of my face that are prone to blackheads (i.e., my nose). I thought, it’s about time I post this long overdue installment. Click the link for my Morning Skincare Routine. Step 1. Remove Makeup (First Cleanse) I just finished my PureVivi Micellar Water, my favorite cleansing water! This is what I use on nights when…

Morning Skincare Routine – Mid-2017

Save for when I don’t sleep or when I have my period, my skin has been behaving really well. I’ve been trying out different brands and products over the past several years, but I generally stick to the same active ingredients –vitamin c (or its derivatives), retinoids, niacinamide, and spf (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). Since February, though, I have been sticking to the same products and I noticed I’m no way near getting bored of them. My skin is far from perfect but I think it moved past a plateau, thanks to the new products I switched to. I’m…
